Donald W. Hogan, 52, of Auburn, was charged Tuesday in Lewis County Superior Court for violation of a court order, domestic violence, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to court documents, on Aug. 30, an officer patrolling in Chehalis observed a motor home with license plates registered to a Ford pickup truck. When the officer spoke to the woman at the driver’s side door, the woman allegedly said she didn’t know where the plates came from.
The woman eventually admitted that “the reason she was saying she didn't know where the plates came from is because she has an active protection order with her husband,” according to court documents. She allegedly said that Hogan was with her, but was getting snacks at a store.
The officer then determined that Hogan had a felony warrant out of Idaho, and confirmed the active protection order with the woman. The officer located Hogan at a Dollar Tree store.
According to court documents, the active post-conviction domestic violence no contact order was issued out of Puyallup Municipal Court on April 20, 2022. It expires April 20, 2027, and prevents Hogan from having contact with the woman.
Hogan has active warrants out of Olympia Municipal Court and Idaho, along with prior warrants out of Texas, according to court documents. The defendant has a burglary conviction from California (2004), a controlled substance felony conviction and no contact order violation from Idaho (2023), and convictions for theft from Texas (2019) and Hawaii (2012).
According to court documents, Hogan has multiple protection order violation convictions in Washington.
Bail was set at $25,000 cash or bond during a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Sept. 2. An arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 4, with Joseph Paul Enbody assigned to represent Hogan.
