Ted Leon “Butch” Palmer

Ted Leon “Butch” Palmer, 75, passed away peacefully at home Nov. 16, 2019, after a long illness of Alzheimer's disease. He was born Aug. 15, 1944, in Longview, Wash., to Alma and Melvin Palmer.

He married the love of his life in 1963, Frances Lakey Palmer. They built a home in Castle Rock, where they lived until Mount St. Helens blew in 1980. They relocated to Napavine where they settled into the home they shared for the past 38 years on Palmer Road.

Ted retired from Weyerhaeuser where he worked as a yarder engineer. He also did cat and dozer jobs, fell timber, built trailers, welded and worked in his shop. He enjoyed hunting and horseback riding.

Ted is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Frances Palmer; daughter, Tammy (Kevin) Zigler; son, Terry (Debbi) Palmer; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Palmer.
