Playing its fourth game in four days, the Tenino volleyball team battled in Shelton on Thursday, but the Beavers ended up on the losing end of a 18-25, 25-18, 25-27, 25-21, 16-14 five-set thriller.
“It was a great battle to end a long week,” Tenino coach Shauna Carpenter said. “It’s not the W we were looking for, but they went down swinging, which is what we want.”
Katen Burkhardt led the way for the Beavers, logging 14 kills, 11 digs, and two tips, Sequoia Zimmer dished out 16 assists.
Kendall Bowe tallied seven kills, two digs, two tips, and a block, and Keira Laughlin went 19 for 24 from the service line while adding seven assists and six digs.
The Beavers (1-3) will get a much-needed break before heading to Napavine on Tuesday.
