A suspect in a child rape case was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 23, during a tactical operation by Tenino police and the Washington State Patrol, the Tenino Police Department announced in a news release.

Law enforcement personnel have not released the suspect’s name.

The arrest was the culmination of an “intensive investigation” by the Tenino Police Department into a report given by a mother on July 27. The mother reported “her ex husband from Thurston County had been raping her juvenile daughter from 9-years-old to 14-years-old,” according to the news release.

Tenino police ultimately developed probable cause for charges of first-degree rape of a child, posession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, sexual exploitation of a minor, first-degree child molestation, communication with a minor for immoral purposes and indecent liberties.

“The Tenino Police Department would like to thank the Washington State Patrol’s Internet Crimes Against Children and Missing and Exploited Children Task Force, Monarch Victim Child Services and CPS (Child Protective Services) for assisting Tenino police with the investigation and for providing advocacy for the victim,” the Tenino Police Department stated in a news release.
The suspect was in custody at the Thurston County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon.
