Trailing by one entering the locker room, the Tigers came out of halftime and lit the scoreboard up with 31 points to break away from the Loggers and pick up a 72-49 C2BL victory at home on Friday night.

The first, second and fourth quarters were all separated by a point. Napavine’s shooting percentage jumped up 10 points from the first half to the second half. Beckett Landram paced its scoring with 23 points while Eric Bullock chipped in 14.

Cal Bullock stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals while Hudson Chambers pulled down nine rebounds. Tyce Vigre added eight points for Napavine (1-0).

Onalaska shot just 24 percent from the field in the final two frames. Noland Brady and Maddox McKinley each recorded 10 points while Austin Sturza registered nine points and a team-high five rebounds.

“Our third quarter troubles that we struggled with last year struck again,” Loggers head coach Fred Sturza said. “We have to be better at handling the pressure and moving the ball around.”

Napavine will host Mossyrock on Tuesday while Onalaska welcomes Morton-White Pass, both games on Tuesday.
