Three area baseball players earned recognition from the Washington State Coaches Association for their strong spring seasons, as Napavine graduate Ashton Demarest, Toledo graduate Caiden Schultz, and Mossyrock rising senior Easton Kolb were named to the Association’s B All-State Team.

Demarest helped Napavine return to the 2B state tournament with a stellar year on the mound, posting a 1.42 earned run average and striking out 89 strikeouts, an area-high. He also hit .418 at the plate with 27 RBIs and he stole 19 bases.

Thanks to Kolb’s excellence at the plate and on the mound, Mossyrock also qualified for the 1B state tournament. Kolb struck out 85 batters while hitting .551 and posting an OPS of 1.496.

Schultz led Toledo deep into the districts, posting a 1.11 ERA, striking out 69 batters, and keeping opposing hitters to a .151 batting average.
