Three injured after driver loses control of vehicle on U.S. Highway 12 in Lewis County

One driver and two passengers were transported to various hospitals after the driver lost control of his vehicle about 10:30 a.m. Aug. 24, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

Austin J. Singletary, 21, Selah, was driving a 2000 Toyota Corolla westbound on U.S. Highway 12, east of Mossyrock, around milepost 89, when his vehicle veered to the eastbound shoulder.

The Corolla went down the embankment. Singletary, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Arbor Health Morton Hospital.

One of the passengers, Dylan M. Moore, 21, Yakima, was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt.



The other, Dakota C. Clark-Deweese, 21, Selah, was lifeflighted to Tacoma General Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle was considered totaled. No drugs or alcohol were reported to have been involved.

While the cause of the accident was listed as an overcorrection, the WSP noted that potential charges were under investigation.
