Three Washington residents were hospitalized Saturday after a motorcycle struck a vehicle on state Route 505 east of Toledo, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

According to WSP, a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Malcolm J. McDonald, 52, of Hoquiam, was heading northbound on Route 505 at about 3:27 p.m. May 9 when it struck a 2013 Toyota Venza that had attempted to cross Route 505 from Templeton Road to Schmidt Road.

McDonald, who was reportedly wearing a federally compliant helmet, was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital following the incident, as were the driver and passenger of the Venza, Victory E. Chernyshova, 23, and Karly A. Brooks, 23, both of Toledo.

Troopers said Chernyshova and Brooks were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident.

According to WSP, Chernyshova faces a charge of second-degree negligent driving.

In its incident report, WSP indicated no drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision. The cause was listed as a failure to yield the right of way.

Troopers said the motorcycle was considered totaled.
