A 22-year-old man who died in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 near Tumwater on Wednesday has been identified.

Leonilo Lumapas from Beaverton, Oregon died at the scene of the collision, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock told The Olympian on Thursday. His official cause of death has not been determined, he said.

The collision occurred at 12:11 a.m. on I-5 north of 93rd Avenue Southwest and south of Tumwater Boulevard, according to a press memo from Washington State Patrol. Troopers blocked the freeway for six hours and 30 minutes following the incident.

Lumapas reportedly was traveling north in a Honda Civic in lane two of three. Trooper Robert Reyer previously said the Honda struck a disabled semi-truck in that same lane. Both vehicles came to a rest in a ditch on the right side of the freeway.

A 30-year-old Fresno man drove the semi-truck; he was wearing a seat belt and did not suffer any injuries, according to the memo. Lumapas reportedly did not wear a seat belt.

The collision totaled the Honda and the semi-truck, the memo says.
