Thurston County has demonstrated its “strong financial standing” by earning a AA+ rating — which it also received in 2022 — on its bond insurance from S&P Global Ratings, according to a news release from the county.
“Maintaining this strong AA+ rating is a significant achievement for Thurston County,” Thurston County Commissioner Tye Menser said in the release. “It reflects our commitment to fiscal responsibility and sound financial management. This rating allows us to continue to invest in critical infrastructure and services that benefit our community.”
S&P Global Ratings is a division of S&P Global, which rates credit and publishes financial research and analysis.
“This AA+ rating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” Thurston County Manager Leonard Hernandez added. “It reflects our commitment to financial transparency, responsible budgeting, and long-term planning. This rating will allow us to continue to invest in our community and improve the quality of life for our residents.”
