The Napavine baseball team picked up a win on Wednesday, blowing out Onalaska 16-1 to keep pace at the top of the Central 2B League standings.
The Loggers got on the board first thanks to a Rowdy Lyons solo home run in the opening frame, but the Tigers responded with three runs in the second to jump ahead.
The 3-1 score held into the fourth before Napavine began to add on to its lead. The Tigers added three more in the fourth, one more in the fifth, and a nine-spot in the sixth to put the game well out of reach.
Hudson Chambers and Eric Bullock drove in three runs apiece, while Chase Shea and Cal Bullock both added two RBIs. Grady Wilson added two hits and an RBI of his own.
Chambers pitched the first four innings, allowing four hits and a run while walking one and striking out six, while Tommy Deebach struck out four without allowing a hit in two innings of relief.
Lyons added a double to go along with his blast to finish the day with two hits, while Maddox MacKinley and Dakota Kramer also collected a hit.
Napavine (17-2, 13-2 C2BL) remains tied with Adna for first place in the C2BL. Because the Pirates and Tigers split their series, if the two teams both win on Friday, they’ll flip a coin to determine who is the No. 1 and No. 2 seed in the upcoming district tournament. Both teams will receive a first-round bye if they finish as the top two seeds.
Onalaska (2-17, 2-13 C2BL) is currently in eighth in the C2BL, which is the league’s final postseason spot. The Loggers are a game ahead of Mossyrock with one to play.
The Loggers and Tigers will face off again in Napavine on Friday.
