Tigers blow out Titans, Warriors clipped by Bulldogs in tournament

Day one of the Centralia Tigers Classic kicked off on Monday night with host Centralia thumping 3A Todd Beamer 62-17 and North Mason squeaking by Rochester 47-37 at Ron Brown Court.

The Tigers (8-2) jumped out to a 27-3 lead after the first quarter and piled on with 21 points in the second to ignite a running clock for the entire second half. They will take on North Mason in the championship game on Tuesday night.

Anaya Saucedo paced Centralia with 20 points while Kendyl Guenther added 12. It has won back-to-back games scoring north of 60 points for the first time this season.

Meanwhile, Rochester (2-8) was tied with the Bulldogs at 28 early in the fourth quarter before the latter went on a 12-2 spree to seize control. The Warriors will take on Todd Beamer in the third place contest on Tuesday.

In the Skills Showcase, Centralia swept the competition. Maddie Ahern won the skills challenge and Brooklyn Sprague claimed the 3-point contest for the third year in a row.
