The Napavine girls basketball team got back in the win column in emphatic fashion on Friday in Randle, where the Tigers dominated Morton-White Pass in a 65-37 victory.
The Tigers built their lead early and never looked back, shutting out the Timberwolves in the first quarter and opening up a 31-3 advantage midway through the second.
MWP’s offense was able to get going throughout the rest of the second and into the third, getting within 14, but the Tigers kicked it back into gear and outscored the T-Wolves 16-4 in the final frame.
Taylen Evander had an excellent night, scoring 26 points, including four three-pointers, while also adding seven rebounds, five steals, and four assists.
Hayden Kaut tallied 20 points to go along with eight rebounds, five steals, and three blocks, while Sophia Bittner added eight points, four assists, and three boards.
Ava Ondong logged five points and 10 rebounds, and Nicholle Valentine scored four points and hauled in seven rebounds.
Layna Sams led the T-Wolves offense with 15 points, and she also added four rebounds, two steals, and two assists.
Malia Armstrong scored eight points and nabbed eight steals defensively, while Samantha Lougee tallied seven points and six rebounds. Ryelin Wiedenmann scored five points and nearly hit double-digits on the boards with nine rebounds.
Both teams will hit the road for non-league contests on Saturday. Napavine (8-3, 1-0 C2BL) will face White River in Buckley on Saturday, and MWP (8-4, 0-1 C2BL) will head to Tacoma to face Evergreen Lutheran.
