The Morton-White Pass boys basketball team got off to a strong start on Thursday against Wahkiakum, but the Mules quickly kicked it into gear and gained control in a 68-59 Wahkiakum victory.

The T-Wolves (3-7, 0-3 C2BL) led 20-9 after one quarter of play, but Judah Kelly was forced to sit out much of the second quarter after getting into some early foul trouble.

The Mules took advantage, scoring 21 points in the second quarter to get within two at the break.

Wahkiakum carried that momentum into the second half, where they outscored the Timberwolves 38-27 to earn the victory.

Tony Belgiorno led the T-Wolves with 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Judah Kelly scored 13 and Keaton Thompson and Kris Elliott added 10 points each.

The Timberwolves head to Rainier on Wednesday for a tilt with the Mountaineers.
