After letting a halftime lead slip away, the Morton-White Pass boys basketball team regrouped in the final eight minutes and rallied to triumph over Winlock 49-46 for the first victory of the 2025-26 campaign.

When the two teams met in the season-opener, the Cardinals won by two. It was another barn-burner, but the T-Wolves (1-9, 1-6 C2BL) came out on top.

“We kept making changes and adjustments, we found our groove and it worked,” MWP head coach Kevin Dunlap said.

Kohen Ingalsbe paced the Timberwolves with 15 points while Logan Mays added 10. They scored 18 in the opening quarter and led by 11 after two frames. Winlock (2-9, 1-7) answered by only giving up two field goals in the third draining three triples.

For the Cardinals, Freddy Patching posted a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds while Arean Thapa added 11 points and five blocks. They will take on Adna on Tuesday at home while MWP faces Onalaska on Friday.
