The Morton-White Pass baseball team couldn’t keep up with Toutle Lake on Friday, as the Timberwolves lost twice, 9-3 and 11-1, to the Ducks in a C2BL doubleheader.
After going down 2-0 in the first inning of game 1, the T-Wolves (0-6, 0-6 C2BL) were able to cut the deficit in half in the bottom half on an RBI single from Race McKenzie.
Toutle Lake quickly got the run back and then some in the second, pushing its lead to 6-1 before adding a seventh in the third.
Keeton Thompson drove in two to get Morton-White Pass within four, but the Ducks got those two back in the seventh.
The Ducks built their lead much quicker in Game 2, scoring nine in the first three innings to pull away early.
Though the T-Wolves were able to plate one on an error in the top of the sixth, Toutle Lake scored two in the bottom half to end the game in six.
The Timberwolves are off for the next week, and they’ll head to Napavine for the first of a two-game set against the Tigers on Monday, April 8.
