Tire, Scrap Metal, Appliance Recycling Event to Be Held in Randle May 13

Posted

On May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the intersection of Silverbrook Road and Forest Service Road 47 in Randle, Lewis County Solid Waste, the state Department of Ecology and community members in Randle will host a recycling event for tires, scrap metal and household appliances.

“A group of neighbors in Randle have gotten together and are trying to beautify Randle. To that end, we have worked with the Lewis County Waste Management Department to obtain four 40-yard dumpsters: two for scrap metal and two for tires, on or off the rim,” wrote Gina Owen in an email to The Chronicle.

The event will be free and held on a first-come, first-served basis. When the four containers are full, the event will end.

Only “passenger and light truck tires” will be accepted, on or off the rim. Each household is limited to 12 tires, and anyone dropping off tires must be from Lewis County and prepared to show ID.

Customers must unload and stack their own tires.

Scrap metal and appliances accepted must be drained of all fluids, such as gas or oil in lawn mowers. Each household is limited to two appliances each.
