It was about as good of an end to a regular season as Pe Ell-Willapa Valley could have hoped for. On senior night, in front of a ton of fans and with a fireworks show, the Titans’ football team provided their own pyrotechnics, blasting visiting North Beach, 50-6, to close out their regular season in Menlo on Thursday.

“We came out and I told them we’ve gotta stay on a roll and we’ve gotta keep going and play damn good football,” PWV coach Josh Fluke said.

The Titans received touchdowns from seven different players on the night and jumped out to a 36-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Derek Fluke scored on an 18-yard run, Blake Howard on a 1-yard run, Aaiden Lee took a punt return 35 yards for a score, Wil Clements scored from 4 yards out, Tyler Adkins punched one in from 1 yard out, Kolton Fluke ripped off a 16-yard TD run and Cody Strozyk ended the scoring with a 2-yard TD blast.

Fluke commended the play of all five of his seniors: QB/DB Adkins, lineman Kaden Ritzman, lineman Jesse Justice, WR/DB Joseph Krafczyk and RB/LB Lee.

PWV improves to 6-3 and will now face Toledo (7-2) in a district crossover pigtail game at 7 p.m. Monday at Tumwater High School. The winner travels to the Northwest 2B League champion for a shot at a state playoff berth.
