The Clark County Sheriff's office reported a two year-old died after drowning in a creek east of La Center on Saturday afternoon.
A family placed a 9-1-1 call reporting their child missing around 12:30 p.m. around 35412 NE Taylor Valley road. Deputies arrived on scene shortly after and located the child in a nearby creek in the opposite direction of where they had believed the child had gone initially.
Responding officers and medics performed CPR and life-saving measures before a LifeFlight arrived to transport the child to Randall Children's Hospital in Portland, OR at 2:26 p.m.
The child was pronounced dead later that afternoon, according to a representative from the Sheriff's Office.
