Toledo coach Mike Christensen challenged his team before heading into Goldendale for their Week 2 matchup.
“I thought that we could dominate them,” Christensen said. “My goal was 40 (points) in the first half.”
The Riverhawks needed just one quarter to hit that mark, and they added on in the second before putting it in cruise control in a 60-14 victory.
Toledo scored five touchdowns in the first quarter before adding three more in the second.
Nathan Beaver scored on all five of his carries, totalling five touchdowns and 80 rushing yards, while Carter Swofford added 81 yards and two touchdowns on his three carries.
Eli Weeks connected with Adam Kruger for another TD after their dominant Week 1 performance. Weeks finished with 127 passing yards while going 3 for 5 throwing the ball, while Kruger finished with 74 yards on two receptions, and Rohan Feigenbaum added one catch for 53 yards.
Defensively, Feigenbaum also came down with an interception. The Riverhawks forced three fumbles, held Goldendale to an 0 for 11 mark throwing the ball, and they held the T-Wolves to just 52 yards of total offense.
“Defensively, we were on point,” Christensen said. “We were able to do what we wanted. I’m really impressed with our guys.”
Toledo (2-0) will return home next Friday, Sept. 19, to host Pe Ell-Willapa Valley.
