The Riverhawks tested themselves against a 2025 state qualifier three classes above, but defensive miscues caused them to fall to the Hilanders 7-3 on Tuesday afternoon in Kelso.
Peyton Holter delivered the only offense for Toledo (10-2), launching a three-run home run in the top of the sixth after back-to-back walks opened the frame. Kelso led wire-to-wire with two runs apiece in the second, third and fifth innings.
Three errors by the Riverhawks led to four of the runs being unearned. Ellie Seely was the lone hitter in the lineup with multiple hits. They will take on Adna on Saturday afternoon in a game between the last two unbeatens in the C2BL.
