Tree trimming work will close northbound I-5 on-ramp in Chehalis June 7

Travelers who use Interstate 5 in Lewis County should plan ahead for a temporary ramp closure in Chehalis, according to the Washington state Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

On Sunday, June 7, WSDOT maintenance crews will trim trees along the on-ramp from Main Street at Exit 77 to northbound I-5.

Trimming trees near highways improves safety and visibility, WSDOT stated in a news release. It removes low-hanging branches and limbs that could block a driver's view or fall onto the roadway during strong wind or heavy rain.

The closure will occur from 4 to 6 a.m., Sunday, June 7.

During the closure, travelers will need to use a different on-ramp to access northbound I-5.

“For everyone’s safety, please slow down, stay focused and expect delays through the work zone,” WSDOT stated in the release.
