The Pe Ell girls basketball team took care of business on Friday, topping Naselle 55-28 in a 1B District 4 quarterfinal.

The Pe Ell (15-4, 8-3 1B CVL) defense was nearly impenetrable throughout most of the game, allowing just 15 points in the first three quarters.

Offensively, the Trojans took advantage, taking a six-point lead after one, extending it to 20 at halftime, and pushing in to 27 by the end of the third.

Karli Phelps led the Trojans in scoring with 21 points, and she also added seven rebounds and three steals.

After a couple games where she got frustrated because her shots just weren't falling, it was great to see her come out feeling confident in her shot again,” Pe Ell coach Kelsey Lennox said.

Brookelynn King finished with a double-double, scoring 16 points and hauling in 10 rebounds, and both her and Phelps finished with four 3-pointers.

Peyton Zock led the team in rebounds with 14 while adding six points and three steals, while Madi Engel was able to reel in 11 rebounds.

Pe Ell will travel to Taholah on Monday, where they will play for a state berth and a spot in the district title game.
