Posted

With many in the region already celebrating the upcoming Halloween holiday with ghost tours, haunted markets and more, a number of organizations and community groups are hosting “Trunk-or-Treat” events this weekend.

The events are being held starting on Friday, Oct. 30, throughout Lewis County, with days, times and locations listed below. If you know of a Trunk-or-Treat, or another Halloween event, happening this weekend, email Chronicle reporter Owen Sexton at owen@chronline.com to get it added in Thursday’s edition. All events below are free to attend.

Veterans Memorial Museum Trunks with Treats

Kicking off the spooky celebrations on Friday, Oct. 30, is the seventh annual Trunks with Treats event at the Veterans Memorial Museum, located at 100 SW Veterans Way in Chehalis, and sponsored by ZiplyFiber and Gesa Credit Union among others.

Trick-or-treaters can begin making their way around the museum parking lot starting at 6 p.m., though those planning on attending are advised to get there early as this event draws thousands of attendees, meaning parking can be tricky to find.

“Shout out to Walmart Chehalis for donating about 900 pounds of candy,” the Veterans Memorial Museum added in a Facebook post.

Candy donations are still being accepted. For more information, call the museum at 360-740-8875.

UNFI Centralia Trunk-or-Treat event

Get ready for an afternoon of costumes, candy and community fun as UNFI Centralia hosts a Trunk-or-Treat event from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, in the parking lot at 4002 Galvin Road, Centralia.

From creatively decorated trunks to plenty of treats, the event is a great opportunity for local families to enjoy a safe, festive and family-friendly Halloween celebration, according to a news release from event organizers.

While enjoying the Halloween fun, guests will also have the opportunity to learn about career opportunities available at UNFI Centralia. Whether residents are exploring a new career path or interested in learning more about opportunities for growth with UNFI, representatives will be available to answer questions and share information about current openings.
