Tumwater rolls to another blowout win

The Tumwater football team had no problem dispatching its opponent again on Friday, as the Thunderbirds walked away with a 56-6 win over Bainbridge.

It’s the T-Birds second straight win with that scoreline, and once again, things came easy for them on the ground.

Peyton Davis ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, while Tyler Briscoe added 82 yards and got into the end zone on one of his nine carries. Cash Short took both of his short runs for touchdowns, and Mathias Rodriguez, Parker Berry, and Jaylin Nixon also hit paydirt.

Jaxon Budd went a perfect 5 for 5 through the air for 89 yards. David Malroy came down with two of those passes for 39 yards, while Jake Dillon also caught two balls for 26 yards. Nixon caught the other completion, recording 24 yards receiving.

Xavier Bunn came away with an interception on defense, while Mehki Richardson and Mikah Sederberg both blocked punts to give the T-Birds a boost on special teams.

The T-Birds (2-0) will hit the road for the first time next week, as they’ll head to Eastlake High School in Sammamish to face the Wolves.
