Two people are facing charges after officers with the Centralia Police Department recovered at least 53.9 grams of suspected meth and 20.8 grams of suspected fentanyl in a Centralia motel room on Sunday.
Alina Ruth Jones, 23, and Gabriel Myrl Woodward, 33, both of Chehalis, were arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail at 2 p.m. on March 2 after officers responded to a report that a patron was refusing to leave their room at the King Oscar Motel after their scheduled check-out time, according to jail records and court documents.
Jones and Woodward were reportedly inside the motel room when officers arrived. When informed he did not have more time in the room, Woodward allegedly gave officers consent to search the room.
“Inside the room, the officers found drug paraphernalia, a small digital scale and a large baggie containing methamphetamine,” the Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office states in charging documents.
Officers also found “empty baggies typically used for packaging” and “a baggie with fentanyl in it,” according to court documents.
Officers also found baggies of meth and fentanyl inside a bag belonging to Jones, according to court documents.
Jones and Woodward were each charged Monday, March 3, in Lewis County Superior Court with possession of a controlled substance with intent to manufacture or deliver. Jones also faces one count of first-degree criminal impersonation for allegedly giving officers a false name when they contacted her.
Woodward’s bail was set at $50,000 during a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Monday, while Jones’ hearing was rescheduled to Tuesday, March 4, after she refused to appear for her hearing on Monday.
Woodward’s arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, March 13.
