Two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 12 near Morton on Friday.

The Washington State Patrol is currently investigating whether drugs or alcohol were involved and criminal charges may be filed against one of the drivers: Keegan Kelly, 19, of Glenoma.

Kelly was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 12 in a 2007 Honda Accord when, near mile post 101, the Accord crossed the center lane and collided head-on with a 2018 Chevy Cruz driven by Joshua M. Poole, 37, of Dayton, Ohio.

A third vehicle, driven by a 74-year-old Morton man with two passengers, ages 17 and 10, struck the Accord from behind.

State Patrol responded to the crash just after 1:45 p.m. on Feb. 4.

Both Kelly and Poole were transported to Arbor Health with injuries.

No one in the third vehicle reported injuries, but the 10-year-old was transported to Arbor Health Hospital in Morton as a precaution.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
