\Two people died Sunday in a vehicle collision on Highway 2 at Stevens Pass.
A 46-year-old man and a 17-year-old female passenger, both from Gold Bar, Snohomish County, were heading west in a Subaru Crosstrek when the driver lost control and crossed into eastbound traffic around 1 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.
The Subaru collided with a Ford F-150, blocking the highway's eastbound lanes, just west of the pass. A half-hour after the crash, a trooper at the scene reported rain coming down and snow on the shoulder of the highway, Trooper Kelsey Harding said. The temperature was 35 degrees.
Drugs and alcohol were not involved in the collision, according to the State Patrol.
Two people from the second vehicle were taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett: One was injured and one was taken out of precaution, troopers said.
