Two Men Accused of Stealing From Centralia Outlets, Driving Stolen Vehicle

Two Tacoma men are facing felony organized retail theft charges after they allegedly fled from a Centralia Outlets store in the 1300 block of Lum Road on Wednesday and were stopped by Centralia law enforcement. 

Officers located the vehicle after they were alerted by the Flock License Plate Recognition System just after 4:10 p.m. on June 28 that a stolen vehicle was in the area of Belmont Avenue and Lum Road, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

The two suspects, Darnell J. Shobey, 37, and Malcomb M. Shobey, 30, are accused of stealing a total of over $800 from two Centralia outlet stores, according to the Centralia Police Department. 

Malcomb Shobey is additionally facing a possession of a stolen vehicle charge. 



Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail just before 5:35 p.m. on June 28, according to jail records. 

Judge J. Andrew Toynbee set each suspect’s bail at $10,000 unsecured on Thursday, June 29. 

Arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, July 6.
