U.S. Marshals on Monday afternoon tracked down and arrested in Washington state a Keizer woman who’s accused of killing her husband.
The Keizer Police Department said in a statement that they expect to charge Shelly Rae Peca, 56, with second degree murder.
Police officers found Peca’s husband, 59-year-old Walter Arthur Peca, dead in his home on July 17, the police department said in a statement.
As detectives investigated the killing, they learned that Shelly Peca had fled Keizer around 6:30 a.m. the day before police found her husband’s body, police said.
By 10 p.m. the following day, her car was spotted in Brewster, Washington, police said, and marshals on Monday found her on a remote service road in Chelan County.
She is being held at Snohomish County Correctional Facility in Everett, Washington.
