A 16-year-old Vancouver high school student was arrested Tuesday after threatening to blow up his school, officials said.

The teenager, who has not been named, allegedly posted a threat on Snapchat, saying he was going to “blow up” Heritage High School, the Clark County Sheriff‘s Office said in a statement. Another student reported the threat, prompting deputies to go the school and arrest the teenager.

There was no evidence of a bomb or materials that could be used to make a bomb in the student‘s locker or backpack, the sheriff‘s office said, adding that investigators don’t think his threat was credible.

Tuesday was at least the ninth time police were summoned to investigate threats of violence at schools in Oregon and southwest Washington this school year, most recently Oct. 9, when Gresham High School was shut down due to rumors that there were guns on campus.
