The Mossyrock boys basketball team raced out to a big lead early Thursday at home and never looked back, coming away with an 86-33 win over Three Rivers Christian in 1B Columbia Valley League action.

Tyce Vigre took his turn to lead a balanced scoring attack, bagging 23 points for the Vikings (3-0, 2-0 1B CVL), who had nine separate players score on the night.

“It’s nice to have that, to have multiple guys (scoring) so it’s not all on one guy,” assistant coach Kelly Ross said.

Zack Munoz, the one guy it has sometimes been predominantly on in recent years, only scored seven points, instead distributing the ball to the tune of 10 assists.

“We talked to him about how teams are going to key on him, which will give him the opportunity to set other guys up for easy buckets,” Ross said.

Hunter Isom logged a 15-point, 13-board double-double, while Alejandro Gonzalez scored 14 points and Shaun Fry and Ethan Johnson both scored eight.

‘The Vikings put up 25 points in both the first and third quarters, racing out to fast starts to each half, and didn’t let up too much in the other two with 18 in both the second and the fourth. On the other side of things, Mossyrock held its guests under 10 points in each of the final three periods.

Mossyrock will hit the road for non-league action Saturday, heading north to take on Rainier.
