Mossyrock got exactly what it needed Tuesday night: a win over Firm Foundation to lock down the 1B Columbia Valley League’s third seed and a first-round bye in the 1B District 4 playoffs on Saturday.

Fueled by three double-digit scorers, Mossyrock had no trouble disposing of the Eagles for the second time in two nights, this time a 63-38 victory in the Vikings’ regular-season finale at Oakville High School.

“We came out to play pretty well in the first quarter,” Mossyrock coach Adam Deck said. “Our defense was our offense tonight. We got a lot of steals, moved the ball and got a lot of open shots.”

Keegan Kolb scored a game-high 25 points for the Vikings, while Jake Comer was on fire from long range, knocking down 4 of 6 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points. Zack Munoz got his usual double-digit points with 12 on the night, while Easton Kolb added five pints and six assists while locking down one of the Eagles’ top scorers.

“Keegan did everything. It felt like he had 40,” Deck said. “They couldn’t stop him. And defensively, I’m super proud of the team.”

Mossyrock now gets the winner of Pe Ell and Mary M. Knight at 6 p.m., Saturday, at home in a loser-out match in the district tournament.
