Vikings No-Hit Cardinals in Non-League Tilt

Mossyrock scored runs in all five innings while no-hitting Winlock for a 12-2, run-rule victory at home in a non-league matchup on Saturday.

Tied 2-2 entering the bottom of the second, the Vikings scored three times to retake the lead for good and fended off Winlock the rest of the way to secure the win.

Gunner Mulligan led the Vikings’ offense, going 2 for 3 with three runs and two RBIs. Jake Comer was 2 for 3 with two runs and an RBI, while Easton Kolb scored three times and Marshall Brockway scored twice.

Comer, Brockway and Zackary Munoz combined for a no-hitter. Comer started on the mound for Mossy, striking out two batters in one scoreless inning. Brockway tossed three hitless innings of relief, striking out six and allowing one earned run on five walks. Munoz had one K with no hits and no walks in the fifth inning.

Chris Heikkila scored once for the Cardinals, finishing with two walks, while Liam Groves scored the other run.

Kyrin Meehan threw the first inning for Winlock, striking out one and allowing one earned run on one hits and one walk. Cole Fray-Parmantier pitched 3 ⅓ innings, allowing five earned runs on seven hits and two walks with four punchouts.

Winlock heads to the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey to face Rainier in a league game.

Mossyrock hosts Naselle at 4 p.m. on Monday in a league contest.
