The Mossyrock baseball team earned its first win of the young 1B Coastal League season Thursday, shutting out Oakville 9-0.

Three Vikings combined to keep the Acorns off the scoreboard, with Tim Bowes striking out seven in five innings of work, and Keegan Kolb and Hunter Isom both throwing hitless innings to finish it off.

“(Bowes) hasn’t pitched in three years and decided to play this year and he hasn’t skipped a beat,” Mossyrock coach Darren Kolb said. “He threw hard and was consistent all day.”

Bowes also went 2 for 2 with a walk and a double to lead Mossyrock at the plate; Easton Kolb added a double of his own, and Jacob Comer drove in three runs.

Oakville will take on Northwest Christian at home on Friday. Mossyrock is scheduled to host Lake Quinault in a doubleheader on Monday.
