Warriors Come Back From Harbor With Win Over Bobcats

The Rochester baseball team picked up a league win Friday afternoon in Grays Harbor, getting plenty of run support to withstand a 4-spot in the second, defeating Aberdeen 11-4.

The Warriors jumped out fast on the Bobcats, scoring four runs in the first before the Bobcats managed to tie it up with four runs in the second of their own.

Rochester got a run back in the third, and added six more in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to run away with a bounceback league win on the road.

Ethan Rodriguez stepped in at leadoff and went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI knock, Mason Ubias went 1 for 2 with three runs scored, an RBI, and a walk drawn, and Hayden Pietras hit a bases-clearing double, scoring three runs, to lead the way at the plate.

Tate Quarnstrom got the start on the mound, going four innings and allowing four runs, with none earned, on two hits and seven walks, with a pair of punchouts. Ubias stepped in to pitch two scoreless innings with one hit, one walk, and one strikeout, and Owen Gillaspie finished the game with an inning pitched, one hit and one strikeout.

The Warriors will resume a contest against Tumwater that started Wednesday night on Saturday. The T-Birds were leading that contest, 4-0, when it was postponed.
