Warriors start year off 2-0 with shutout over Crusiers

A day after securing their first win of the season, the Rochester High School girls soccer team doubled it up with a 1-0 clean sheet over Eatonville on Friday night.

All the Warriors needed was a fourth minute goal from Kenna Pratt off a feed by Harley Frahman. The Cruisers nearly tied the game in the 45th minute after being awarded a penalty kick, but freshman keeper Bella Crawford kept the shutout intact.

The Warriors ended the night with nine shots on goal and the back line stymied Eatonville in the final 40 minutes. They will take on former EvCo rival Black Hills on Tuesday.

“As a coach, I am happy that we won, but again there are things that we still need to work on position wise,” Rochester head coach Matt Ashton said. “And we need to improve our conditioning so that we are not getting tired towards the end of the games.”
