The Centralia College softball team went 2-2 over the weekend, sweeping a doubleheader against Grays Harbor on Friday before being swept in another doubleheader by Lower Columbia on Saturday.
CC held off a late Grays Harbor rally in Game 1 of that doubleheader, stranding two runners in scoring position in the top of the seventh to pull out a 7-6 victory.
Centralia scored all seven of its runs in the first three innings, including three each in the first and second.
Gracie Schofield drove in three runs on a two-run double and an RBI groundout, while Jimena Luis drove in two runs and collected two hits.
Chase White and Grace Huber also tallied two hits, and Rachel Gray reached base in all four of her plate appearances (one hit, three walks).
A four-run fourth was enough for CC in Game 2, which ended 4-1.
Emma Hoffmeister was excellent in the first, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out 11 in a complete-game.
Natalie Loose and Huber logged Centralia’s two RBIs in the game, as the Trailblazers’ two other runs came across on wild pitches.
CC had less success in Longview, losing 9-1 and 12-4 in five innings apiece.
Graci Bonney-Spradlin drove in the Trailblazers’ lone run with a solo home run in Game 1, while Huber drove in three runs in Game 2.
CC (9-12, 5-9 NWAC) will head to Yakima next weekend for the Yakima NWAC Crossover Tournament.
