On Monday, West Thurston Fire Authority firefighters responded to a 1-acre brush fire off 113th Avenue near Tilley Road, according to a social media post by West Thurston Union Firefighters.
Units from both the Littlerock and Rochester stations responded.
“The fire is believed to be started from a fallen tree hitting a power line causing fire to spread up the hill from the road into thick brush,” according to the post.
West Thurston firefighters and the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) remained at the scene late into the night containing the fire.
West Thurston Union Firefighters thanked South Thurston County, DNR and East Olympia District 6 for assistance with the blaze.
