Applications are open for the position 3 seat on the West Thurston Regional Fire Authority (WTRFA) Board of Commissioners.
The seat represents WTRFA’s district 1, which covers the Rochester area.
The board oversees the fire authority’s long term vision and guides the staff in achieving the fire authority’s goals, according to WTRFA.
Fire commissioners attend board meetings once a month and as needed.
Anyone interested in applying should submit a letter of interest to Fire Chief Rob Smith by Sept. 30. Letters may be submitted electronically by email to robbie.smith@wtrfa.org or hand delivered to the main station located at 10828 Littlerock Road SW, Olympia.
The first review of applications is scheduled for Oct. 2.
Individuals who have submitted letters of interest should also plan to attend the Oct. 9 Board of Fire Commissioners meeting at 5 p.m. for interviews.
The meeting will be held at the Littlerock Fire Station at 10828 Littlerock Road SW., Olympia, WA 98512.
Whoever is appointed to this position will serve until 2025 and will have to run for re-election then, according to WTRFA.
