W.F. West, Centralia receive Gesa scholarship funding

Just a few months after launching its W.F. West Affinity Debit Card, Gesa Credit Union has donated $5,000 to W.F. West High School for student scholarships, thanks to community members who chose the new card, a news release from Gesa announced.

When the card launched in June, Gesa pledged $50 to a dedicated scholarship fund for every member who signed up for one through Sep. 18.

Gesa recently presented the resulting $5,000 check to W.F. West High School during last Friday's homecoming game.

The support will continue beyond the initial scholarship donation.

Each purchase made with a W.F. West High School card helps generate funds that Gesa donates annually to Chehalis School District, turning everyday purchases into ongoing support for local students.

The donation in Chehalis comes after a Gesa made a similar contribution in Centralia last month.

On Sept. 29, the company announced a $3,000 donation to Centralia High School for student scholarships. Gesa presented the check to Centralia High School Principal Scot Embery and Centralia School District Superintendent Dr. Lisa Grant during a football game.
