Kayla “Killer Kay” Weed took home the championship belt after defeating Lorren Dullum by submission at Muckleshoot Casino during ExciteFight 5 on Friday, July 7.
After five rounds, Weed was able to lock her opponent in an armbar until Dullum tapped out. Weed embraced her opponent after a brief celebration with her team before being officially declared the new ExciteFight champion.
Weed, W.F. West High School’s first member of the girls wrestling team in 2014, was previously declared victor in a mixed martial arts match against Rose Fujinaka last March at the Muckleshoot Casino.
Weed began training with coach Jeff Hougland at Combat Sport and Fitness in Enumclaw last August. Her victory over Fujinaka was her first fight back since giving birth to her daughter Mia just over one year prior.
Weed is a 2016 graduate of W.F. West High School.
