The W.F. West girls bowling team defeated Shelton 1,777-1,562 Thursday night at Westside Lanes in Olympia.
Shelton led for most of the first game until Allie Smitherman and Julianna Gonzalez combined for a four-bagger in the ninth and 10th frames to snatch a 712-705 victory.
In the second game, Sable Bunker led the way with a 188 to help the Bearcats win the match.
“We were very lucky to win this match,” head Bearcats coach Rich Bunker said. “We’ve been in a slump for a couple weeks. Hopefully, we will snap out of it in time to compete against a great Rochester team on Tuesday.”
