The W.F. West boys basketball team had to wait a few extra days for its regular season finale, but the Bearcats were still able to come away with a 50-39 win over Shelton.
The Bearcats slowly built their lead throughout, taking advantage of 19 offensive rebounds to score 20 second-chance points and 28 points in the paint. Shelton, on the other hand, was limited to just six offensive boards, three second-chance points, and 14 points in the paint.
Grady Westlund finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Weston Potter scored 11 points and added eight rebounds of his own. He also had three assists and a steal.
Gage Brumfield scored seven points and brought down eight rebounds, and Hayden Rooney added five points and two rebounds.
W.F. West (11-10) finishes the EvCo season 7-3 and as the No. 3 seed. The Bearcats will host Hockinson in a district pigtail game on Thursday.
