White Pass Highway Shopper to Publish Final Issue After 47 Years

A weekly publication available from Naches to Centralia is publishing its final issue. 

The Packwood-based White Pass Highway Shopper has been publishing since 1976, focusing on outdoors activities, tourism information and local news and advertising. 

“The next issue Sept. 7, 2022, of the Highway Shopper will be our last,” the publication announced on the front page of its latest edition. “Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to serve you for 47 years!”

According to its website, the Shopper has a free weekly circulation of 6,500 through 270 local businesses. 



It served the cities and towns of Packwood, Randle, Glenoma, Morton, Mineral, Mossyrock, Onalaska, Salkum, Ethel, Centralia, Chehalis and Naches.

The publication is owned by David Bunting, according to online filings.
