White Pass Ski Area plans to open for daily operation beginning Saturday, it announced on its website Thursday afternoon.
Nine inches of new snow in the last 24 hours as of 3:30 p.m. means limited terrain will be accessible, including Far Side, Poma Face, Cascade and Holiday. The Great White Express lift will be running from the base, along with the Far East Triple and the three carpets for beginner runs.
It's the third time in the last five years White Pass hasn't opened to the public until Dec. 10 or later, although the ski area hosted a limited opening for season passholders only before the arrival of warmer temperatures and rain. White Pass opened on Dec. 16 in 2021 and Dec. 14 in 2019.
The Nordic Center plans to open next Friday, Dec. 15, and a start date for tubing will be determined. Go to skiwhitepass.com for the latest updates.
