A woman fell about 50 feet to her death from a cliff near the Oneonta Trail on Sunday, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.
Elisha Angelic Macias, 22, of Hillsboro was hiking with friends when she separated from the group at some point and went off the trail, sheriff’s officials reported. No one saw Macias fall, they said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to an emergency call about 4:20 p.m. and arrived to find another hiker performing CPR, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. Cascade Locks Fire & EMS also responded and declared Macias dead at 4:35 p.m., authorities said.
