A 43-year-old businesswoman allegedly slapped a student while presenting to a Lakeridge Middle School class for a career fair Friday, police said.

Ellen Sawo, of Lake Oswego, was arrested for harassment and taken to Clackamas County Jail.

While Sawo was presenting, she allegedly became upset with some of the students and began yelling profanities at them, according to police. As the situation escalated, police said she slapped one of the students in the face.

The student was not injured, police said. Sawo left the school before police arrived without incident. Officers contacted her later and she was arrested, police said.

Sawo is a founder of a business development firm, according to her personal website.
