A Tacoma woman is facing a possible vehicular assault charge for allegedly causing a two-vehicle crash on state Route 507 near Rainier on Thursday while she was allegedly under the influence of drugs or alcohol, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Jennifer G. Lawrence, 38, was reportedly driving a white 2011 Mazda 3 southbound on state Route 507 just north of Koeppen Road when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck a silver 2020 Honda Accord.

Both vehicles came to rest on the right shoulder of northbound state Route 507 just north of Koeppen Road, according to the Washington State Patrol, which responded to the crash just after 4:25 p.m. on June 6.

The roadway was blocked for 4 hours and 24 minutes after the crash, according to the state patrol.

Lawrence and her passenger, a 28-year-old Spanaway man, were transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital along with the driver of the Honda, a 52-year-old Yelm man.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
