A 41-year-old Randle woman was transported to Arbor Health Morton Hospital after another car struck her vehicle while she was turning left on U.S. Highway 12 in Randle on Tuesday.

The Washington State Patrol responded to the crash just before 3:35 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Both vehicles were reportedly traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 12 when the Randle woman, driving a 2015 Honda Fit, turned left at milepost 112, and the other car, a 2007 Chevy Silverado with a flatbed trailer driven by a 19-year-old Ridgefield man, failed to yield right of way and struck the Honda’s rear bumper. The Honda rolled over onto its top and came to rest in a ditch, according to a state patrol incident report.

The state patrol identified the Randle woman as Karalee J. Thompson and the Ridgefield man as Spencer G. Hughes.

The Washington State Patrol has determined failure to yield and defective brakes were the cause of the crash, according to an incident report.

Drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash, according to the state patrol.
